Laying beneath a large oak tree, Aerith's emerald green hues watched the lazy sway of leaves in the breeze. One hand was tucked beneath her head threading slender digits through strands of soft chocolate brown while the other laid flat against her laptop. For the life of her, she couldn't find the concentration necessary to do any sort of work nor even bother writing in her online journal. Something that really she couldn't understand. This entire week had been filled with so much activity she longed to write about but nothing poured from her fingertips and she had given up entirely for the time being to relax.
These were the days where she longed to spend as much time she could enjoying the beauty of the Planet had granted around her. She had hoped (while she had no classes) that she would find a garden center or even a greenhouse within the campus but she had found neither while on her tour earlier. She could only surmise that somehow she missed it.
'I will search later on tomorrow after class,' she thought to herself as a small smile tugged on the corners of her mouth. 'Perhaps I missed it.'
Tearing her gaze away from the sway of leaves, Aerith allowed them to drift across the campus. The last remaining rays of sunlight pouring itself over the looming towers and buildings. For a single moment, she wished she had brought a camera with her. She could send pictures back home for the others to enjoy.
"Mom would be proud," she told herself aloud, pushing herself up to sit. "She always wanted me to get a better education."
Sighing softly, she pushed away all further thoughts from her mind and drew her attention back to her laptop. She should write something in that journal but what? Picking up the laptop, she set it on her lap and lifted it's top. Her fingertips brushed against the keys as begun her entry into her journal.
Once finished, she set the top back down and glanced once more around her aware now that the sun had all but faded from her view. Indeed it was time for her to go and return to her dorm. Holding the laptop like a school book, Aerith rose from the ground, brushing off the dust and grass that clung to her pale pink dress before walking away.
