Laying beneath a large oak tree, Aerith's emerald green hues watched the lazy sway of leaves in the breeze. One hand was tucked beneath her head threading slender digits through strands of soft chocolate brown while the other laid flat against her laptop. For the life of her, she couldn't find the concentration necessary to do any sort of work nor even bother writing in her online journal. Something that really she couldn't understand. This entire week had been filled with so much activity she longed to write about but nothing poured from her fingertips and she had given up entirely for the time being to relax.

These were the days where she longed to spend as much time she could enjoying the beauty of the Planet had granted around her. She had hoped (while she had no classes) that she would find a garden center or even a greenhouse within the campus but she had found neither while on her tour earlier. She could only surmise that somehow she missed it.

'I will search later on tomorrow after class,' she thought to herself as a small smile tugged on the corners of her mouth. 'Perhaps I missed it.'

Tearing her gaze away from the sway of leaves, Aerith allowed them to drift across the campus. The last remaining rays of sunlight pouring itself over the looming towers and buildings. For a single moment, she wished she had brought a camera with her. She could send pictures back home for the others to enjoy.

"Mom would be proud," she told herself aloud, pushing herself up to sit. "She always wanted me to get a better education."

Sighing softly, she pushed away all further thoughts from her mind and drew her attention back to her laptop. She should write something in that journal but what? Picking up the laptop, she set it on her lap and lifted it's top. Her fingertips brushed against the keys as begun her entry into her journal.

Once finished, she set the top back down and glanced once more around her aware now that the sun had all but faded from her view. Indeed it was time for her to go and return to her dorm. Holding the laptop like a school book, Aerith rose from the ground, brushing off the dust and grass that clung to her pale pink dress before walking away.

(ooc: hope ya don't mind if I come in ^_^)

Zidane heads out of his dorm room, closing the door and locking it behind him. He's wearing a plain blue and white short-sleeved t-shirt, jean shorts with his tail poking out of the back as usual, and regular white tennis shoes with white socks. Zidane shoves his hands into his pockets and starts walking down the hallway in the direction of the door, head facing towards the floor as he's deep in thought. His feet taking him where he wants to go really without him even thinking too much on it.

*Man... there's gotta be more to do around here than just eat, sleep and study. This is crazy. Though, it was real nice seeing Garnet the other day. MAN, I've gotta stop clamming up like that whenever I see her. I mean.. she IS my girlfriend and all.. right? It just... doesn't really seem like it. Maybe I'm doin' something wrong. Maybe I'm not doin' enough? She did kinda seem to zone-out when I kissed her back then. Maybe... maybe she's waiting for ME to do something to heighten the relationship? That's probably it. I never understand women. They want all these things, but never say anything. You just.. are supposed to KNOW already. Like men are supposed to be mind-readers or somethin'. I dunno. I think I'm readin' too much into this subject. Maybe me and Garnet need more together time? Or maybe.. it's separation that we need...? I don't like that solution. But, it's always a possibility, I guess.* He sighed to himself softly as he rounded a corner. *I mean.. there ARE a bunch of great looking girls here -- Garnet isn't the only one... but, on the other hand... it took me SO long to finally get her. And now, I don't know what to d--*

Zidane snapped out of his own little world as he looks up to see that he bumped head-to.... chest... with a girl that was rounding the corner he was coming around, but in the opposite direction. Well, he WOULD have smacked face-first into her breasts, but instead it was face-first into the hard surface of the back of a laptop.

Zidane instinctively stumbled backwards about a foot and turned around, clutching his forehead in pain and rubbing it while one hand is pressed up against the nearby wall, keeping his balance.

*DAMN that hurt!* He thought. *The hell did I bump INTO, anyway!?*

OOC: A threesome is nice...

While Cloud took the last turn needed to reach the boarding house, he gave a loud yawn, covering his mouth with his hand. He had always felt drowsy every after his part-time job in the library.

And he was even scolded for wearing a rather..."uneducated" outfit. Goth top, black leather pants, spiky accessories and extra rings...that was uneducated? *The only uneducated part here is the skull on my top. The other only looked eccentric.* He groaned. He reached out from behind his pants and took out two long envelopes where read 'To: Mr. Cloud Strife'. *At least he didn't deduct anything from my pay.*

While he continued towards the men's section, he was counting his money. The sum was big enough to last him for the whole week, he thought. And there was still Chocobo Ranch the next day. Cloud knew he was going to make it out alive.

*What?* Cloud blinked and saw a boy rubbing his forehead and a girl holding her laptop. He had stopped dead from his steps as he saw her hair. *It was her...the woman from the caf yesterday.* He would have struck a conversation that time but there was no logical reason to do so.

Now, there was.

"Is anything wrong?" Cloud asked, approaching the scene coolly while keeping his salary.

*Of course something is wrong, you idiot!*

"What happened?" He rephrased his question quickly, turning to the woman closest to him. His heart pounded and he didn't know why. Her emerald green eyes were stunning and her skin looked smooth white. What was happening to him?

"What happened?"

The voice of the newcomer drew Aerith's attention away from Zidane as she lifted emerald green hues up to look at the spiked blond at her side. A small pale blush was creeping it's way across her cheeks and for once, she was thankful for the night.

'Gorgeous,' she thought of him but quickly shook such a thing from her mind. This was hardly the place nor the time to think of the man. However, she couldn't help it.

"I bumped into the gentleman," she answered finally after a few moments of silence. She rose to her feet picking up the laptop in the process and gestured to it, "and my laptop kinda smacked him in the face. I offered to take him to the infirmary since it was my fault."

Even after Cloud bent to check the shorter man's forehead, her voice echoed in his head--this not known to him. He could notice a hint of pinkness on it before he stood back up and pocketted his hands, still looking at the man. "It doesn't look so bad to need the infirmary. But it MIGHT end up with a bruise." He turned to the woman and made sure he caught himself before he drops speechless. "I've been around the campus a lot for this past week, I'm pretty sure I've been coming across the infirmary on my way to work. In any case, the caf should have some ice to help."

Secretly, he had already been planning to introduce himself.

*...introduce? Excuse me? Like this woman would even care to know me...* Cloud scolded himself mentally. *Maybe it's not gonna be such a wise move...*

Aerith breathed a sigh of relief. She was rather happy to hear it would only be a minor bruise, but she still felt horrible for being the one to cause it in the first place.

"I want to thank you--" Aerith began upon realizing she had no knowledge of who he was. "I'm sorry I didn't even ask your name. I am Aerith Gainsborough."

Cloud was somehow amused as to how he was, in a way, forced to introduce himself. "Cloud Strife." He said with a simple nod and rather eloquently at that. He decided to skip the other information of him. "Aerith, that sounds like a very lovely name..."

*That wasn't supposed to escape your mind, idiot!*

"I meant!" Cloud cleared his throat, feeling embarassed for his loss of control. But no blush could be seen. "W, we should probably get going now." His thumb pointed over to the path to the cafeteria, where he knew the infirmary was near. "Before it gets late. In any case, I could probably buy us dinner in the cafeteria. Ms. Anna wouldn't mind."

*That was to extend courtesy...* Cloud defended his own decision.

"Aerith, that sounds like a very lovely name..."

Aerith couldn't help but allow the blush to deepen across her cheeks. Such compliments were rarely paid her way. Though often chased by various men, it was not the way in the sense she wanted to be. Mostly due to the desire of being used as a test subject for various experiments by Hojo himself.

"I thank you but I must decline and ask for a raincheck. I have class in the morning and I am hoping to find the greenhouse or gardens to see if I can get a job there," she apologized hating to turn down such delightful company with both young men. "I'm truly sorry."

Cloud felt dismayed when he recieved Aerith's answer. But the question 'Why?' came and he pushed it off. Aerith was just a woman he passed by, why was he being disappointed? "Well...in that case, I guess we'll just stick to the infirmary plan. Or do you need to go back to the dorm? I can take him to the nurse for you." He hoped Aerith wasn't confused with his answer, he wasn't exactly sure what she meant to postpone.

And despite her company, Cloud hated how he was losing his cool. Stuff like this, he dismissed with a wave of a hand. He tried to see what was different but couldn't seem to find it...

If Aerith held any confusion over his words, she didn't show it. Instead a warm smile had played itself upon the corners of her mouth.

"We should get him some ice," she replied turning her gaze once more to the young man in question. "I don't want that bruise to get any worse. I still feel horrible for causing it. I hope the both of you won't mind the company there but I can't stay long at all. With classes in the morning, I want some sleep."

She stole a glance at Cloud, allowing her first chance to study him even in the light of the moon. He had been the first man she had come across to actually find herself completely charmed by. Like those knights on white horses who saved the--

Aerith halted her thoughts and snapped her attention back to reality.

The words painfully echoed in and out of Zidane's mind like a chainsaw.

"...I offered to take him to the infirmary..."

"...I want to thank you--"

"...Aerith, that sounds like a very lovely name..."

"...I could probably buy us dinner..."

"...I can take him to the nurse for you..."

Zidane felt about as tall as a grain of rice.

And what's worse?

They were treating him like a CHILD.

*TAKE me to the nurse??* He thought. *GET me some ice?? What, am I three years old now?? I can take care of myself. It was just a damn bump on the head. I've gotten worse hits on the head from Blank.*

As he looked up at the woman he bumped into, then across at the other guy who showed up a moment later, he felt something inside him.

*Why do I feel like this?* He wondered to himself as they continued to talk amongst themselves while he quietly sat on the back-burner.

And then.. it finally hit him.

*She's... she's beautiful...* The thought entered his mind, ironically enough, like a thief in the night.. making him realize it before he even consciously thought it. The way the moonlight and the dimly-lit hallway lights reflected off of her fair skin, and her perfectly layed golden-brown hair.. he felt his heart racing, but couldn't explain it at all.

*What the hell? Am I falling... in LOVE with her?!* The notion seemed totally foreign to him. *B-but.. I don't even KNOW her! This makes no sense!* As much as he pondered the thought, he couldn't explain the feeling at all.

"...We should get him some ice..."

The words snapped him back to the grim reality, as he remembered the situation at hand.

He sighed softly to himself.

*Besides... look at them...* He told himself. *There's no place for me there... she likes Golden Boy over there -- it's obvious, the way she's blushing slightly, the way she's speaking. Even I can tell, and I never understand women. Besides... what about Garnet...?*

Accepting the harsh reality, Zidane stands back up to his full height, still holding his head with one hand. He gives them both a once-over, then turns around to face away from them both.

"Oh, no.." He said, his words having the slight hint of resentment and regret all at once as he spoke. "Don't change your plans on my account. I'll.. (grunt)... I'll be fine. Heh, it's just a little bump on the head, is all." Forcing himself to regain what little composure he has left, and even worse, forcefully pushing what tried to pass for a half-assed chuckle out of his lips, Zidane shakes his head to try and rid himself of those thoughts, as he makes his way back around the corner, going back the way he came and heading back towards his dorm room.

As he rounded the next corner only a few yards away from the two, he stopped and leaned up against the wall, then slid down it to a sitting position. Zidane wraps his arms around his knees and pulls them in close, burying his face in his knees.

*I don't know what to do....*

She opened her mouth to protest...to tell him that she wanted to help him but he was gone before the words even had the chance to reach her lips.

Aerith rocked back on the heels of her boots and frowned. This day was certainly not going any better than she had hoped. Her one chance to make a new friend had faded before her eyes.

[ OOC ] Nope, I don't mind at all ^^ [ /OOC ]

The sound of the impact drew Aerith out of the haze of thoughts and sent her spinning on the heels of her boots to see a young man holding his head in pain.

"Are you alright?" She asked, kneeling down and setting the laptop down at her side to examine the slight bump on his head. "I am sorry. If I had been paying attention, you wouldn't have gotten hurt. Forgive me."

The apologizes fell from her lips like pearls being strung together. She had never been accident prone and this was her first ever injury she had caused anyone. She felt horrible now. She had been to wrapped up in her day dreams and too caught up in the beauty of the night to take note of anyone else around her. She had assumed mostly she was the only one out at this time.

'This is not the way to make friends,' the thought crept its way into her mind making her feel even more guilty over it.

"Do you wish me to take you to the infirmary?" She asked

*Change plans on his account? Is he serious?* In fact Cloud was having the time of his life.

If Aerith wasn't present he would have shaken his head and hit it lightly a few times. His thoughts were being jumbled up. Something was coming in and he was just pushing it away. *I need to leave these things off until I get back to my dorm. Focus...focus...*

Cloud turned to Aerith with a questioning look and pointed over to Zidane with his left thumb. Words need not speak his question 'What's up with him?'.

Aerith frowned and shook her head. She didn't know what to say to Cloud about the young man nor had she had any clue to whom he was. Glancing over at the tall blond, she gave him a sad smile and answered, "I don't know. I honestly don't know."

She was puzzled by the sudden disappearance of the young man and she rocked again on the heel of her boot.

"Did you know him?" She asked, trying to keep the silence away.

"Never met him." Cloud turned to Zidane. "...wait right here." Determined to get that smile back to Aerith's face, he approached Zidane and stood in front of him, bending and supporting his weight by pushing the wall with his right hand. His right leg had also moved a step forward as he looked at the shorter man. "Hey, what's wrong? We were just going to get you some ice." His face was serious but nothing stern.
